From California with its unmistakable style Google pays a tribute to the great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The singer passed away on September 6th at his Modena estate after a long fight against a pancreatic tumor. October 12th would have been his 72nd birthday.
As a tribute to the "Maestro" the company created by Larry Page and Sergey Brin restyled for a day their "Google Doodle": the letter "l" was replaced by Big Luciano singing while holding his legendary white handkerchief.

A mouse-click on the logo led to millions of pages about the man that wanted to be remembered simply as "an opera singer". With this tribute Google probably allowed many people to discover something about the most loved tenor in the history of modern opera.
